Otairi is a great stake-earner and very, well now, while First Acre has run some fair races this month. Merry Damon showed improved form at Trentham and runs well at Hawera. High Falutin’ scored so well at Stratford that he must be givenl a great chance. Of the light-weights, My Own and The Swell have the best recent form. Early favourites will be High Falutin’, Concentrate, My Own and Merry Damon. The defection of Lady Quex leaies fourteen in the Flying Handicap and only 181 b. separates the top and bottom weights.
