MISS MERCEDES GLEITZE STARTS.

Auckland, Jan. 16

Miss Mercedes Gleitze, the endurance swimmer, started at 5.35 this morning to attempt to break her own record for an endurance swim of 424 hours. Miss Gleitze completed 18 hours' swimming at 11.30 last night and was then going well.
