Mr. T. E. Valintine, of the staff of the Evening Post, Wellington, is spending his holidays at Eltham, at the honie of his father, Dr. T. H. A. Valintine.
Mr. R. E. Coleman, accountant at the Bank of New South Wales, New Plymouth, is at present relieving the manager at the Inglewood branch.
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Forbes and Sir Thomas and Lady Sidey departed from Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday under happy auspices, states a cable message. They are due at Wellington on Tuesday. Guests at- the Criterion, New Plymouth, include Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Pfister (New York), Mr. W. E. Fowler (Auckland), Mr. Duncan (Awakino), Mr. W. H. P. Marsdon (Wellington), Mr. W. McGruer (Auckland), and Mr. J. Barnett (Christchurch).
Mr. W. C. Barry, M.R.C.V.S., veterinary superinteij-ent for the Wellington district, is visiting New Plymouth in order to investigate a report of the occurrence of cattle tick in North Taranaki.
Guests at the Imperial, New Plymouth, are Mr. H. Moreland, Hamilton, Mr. and Airs. H. Aitken, Hamilton, Mr. R. E. Galvin, Wellington, Mr. W. H. Booth, Carterton, Mr. C. G. C. Dermer, Cheltenham, Dr. and Mrs, D. Miller, Nelson.
