Mr. George Wallace Melville, actuary in the Government Life Department, Wellington, died under an anaesthetic at Napier last night while undergoing an operation for appendicitis. ' I At the inquest to-day the. verdict was death from heart failure and that al! care had been taken by the surgeon.
