RINKS CHAMPIONSHIPS
PROGRESS OF TOURNAMENT RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. SUMMARY OF AUCKLAND RESULTS. I By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The rinks championship in the Dominion bowling tournament was commenced to-day when three rounds with the exception of sections F, L and I were completed. Matches in these sections will be continued at 8.30 to-morrow morning and if not completed by 9 o’clock will be decided during the luncheon adjournment. The weather in the forenoon to-day was fine but windy and in the late afternoon rain caused adjournments at several greens for the remainder of play. Following is a summary of the results: — Section A: Brookfield (St. Heliers), three wins; Armstrong (Pukekohe), Lewis (Cambridge), MacPherson (Rawhiti), two wins one loss. Section B: Frost (Frankton Railways), Clarke (Carlton), three wins;' Deane (Dunedin), Rolls (Featherston), Hosking (Pukekohe), Scantlebury (Auckland), two wins one loss. Section C: Johnfeon (Waitemata), Benson (Dominion Road), three wins; Mayo (Port Ahuriri), Keatley (Rocky Nook), Lindberg (Onehunga), two wins one loss.
Section D: Singer (Christchurch), three wins; Lancaster (St. Johns), Richmond (Epsom), Fraser (Mt. Eden), Truscott (Carlton), two wins one loss. Section E: Bremner (West End,; Auckland), three wins; Doherty (Kel-' burn), Tomlinson (Mount Albert), Murray (Rawhiti), Wright (St. Heliers), Kilgour (Carlton), Melville (Devonport), two ■wins, one loss. , Section F: Andell (Hataitai), Kirkwood (St! Johns), Delaunay (Epsom), two wins (third round not completed). Section G: Gribble (Rotorua), three wins; Billing (West End, New Plymouth), Coburn (Whangarei), Naylor (Lyall Bay), two wins, one loss.
