FOUND DEAD ON ROADSIDE
SHOTGUN BESIDE THE BODY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ashburton, Jan. 15. J. F. Melvin, aged about 40, a grocer of Shirley, Christchurch, was found shot dead on the roadside at Green Street. A discharged shot-gun was alongside the body, and Melvin's motor-cycle with a side-car was standing nearby. The top of his head was blown off.
