ASSURANCE FROM MISS GLEITZE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. An assurance that she will attempt to swim Cook Strait has been given by Miss Mercedes Gleitze. According to advice from Auckland yesterday she is to compete at Sydney on January 29 in an endurance swimming contest. Information received to-day from Miss Gleitze is that her main object in commo- to New Zealand was to swim Cook Strait and she would return to New Zealand from Australia for that purpose.
