' A huge meeting of tram and 'bus tih- . ployees was held at midnight and lashed , four hours to’decide whether they should , strike as the .result of failure to obtain from the employers the demands® they made in regard' to wages and conditions of service. . The actual result, of .the ballot takenon the question ii. unknown, as ithe’Presa was ; rigorously excluded from the meeting, .but it is authoritatively learned that the men definitely favoured a .strike. The actual time of its commencement is being kept’ , a closely guarded secret, but it'is known that the buses and trams will stop at * prearranged signal.
