BOYS LACK DISCIPLINE
BOARD’S GUIDANCE SOUGHT COMPLAINT BY THE COMMITTEE. CARS DAMAGED BY CATAPULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Allegations of lack of discipline at a school in the Auckland district were made in a letter received by the Education Board from the local school committee. The secretary of the committee wrote: “I am instructed by the committee to again .draw your attention to the serious lack of discipline - at this school. Big boys carry catapults, and already there have been three windows broken in passingmutor-cars. Complaints have been made to the headmaster, and to our knowledge he has taken no action to stop this practice. Tlje boys are also in' the habit of smoking on the school grounds. I am writing to tlie parents of the offending boys, asking for their co-operation in the matter, but- that is no good as long as the present state of affairs is tolerated. The committee views with alarm the state of affairs and wishes to know what action can be taken. The householders are blaming the committee for making no move. Let us know what to do as soon as possible.” 'After discussing the matter in coni; mittec the board decided to refer it. tu the senior inspector for a report.
