CHANGED AIR. TRAINING
REFRESHER COURSES DROPPED
SQUADRON FLIGHTS PLANNED.
ny Telegraph.—Press Association. ( ' , . Wellington, Last Night. All refresher courses for the New Zealand Air Force which were to take place within the next few months have been cancelled. Some time ago all pilots in the various;, squadrons were notified wheif* they would have to report at Wigram aerodrome for the annual 10day refresher course. These notices have been countermanded. Many of the officers who have been in the habit of spending their annual leave in flying had applied for holidays this time, and these latest orders have been welcome for it was now too late to change the holiday period.
The 1931 course was to have been especially notable, as it would be the first occasion on ( which the Air Force would have gone into training as a wing of four squadrons instead of filing in in batches in a more or less haphazard manner. Six, selected club-trained pilots who have been granted commissions were also to have had their first experience in service flying. Squadron flights such as the one recently undertaken by No. 1 Squadron, Auckland, will in a measure replace the refresher courses. It is understood two similar flights are being organised.
