That well-known firm last week fired an excellent display for the Te Aroha jubilee celebrations committee, the Auckland Star stating that “the’fireworks display was the finest ever witnessed in the district. The colour effects of rockets, shooting stars, Catherine wheels, shower rockets and streamers being magnificent.” Next Mon-, day’s pyrotechnical display will doubtless prove a very entertaining attraction and should be an aid to the festive spirit usually engendered by the approach of the Christmas season. To compensate the boys who prepared for the Guy Fawkes competition which was to have been held, last month, but was regretfully cancelled, a singing competition is announced and is open to all boys who are not over 14 years of age. Cash prizes will be awarded all competitors. Boys will be permitted to choose their own . song's and there will be no entry fee. Entries may be left: at Collier’s music store. Further particulars be -announced in , due course.
