EMPLOYMENT RATIONING
SYDNEY SEAMEN’S PROPOSAL. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. • Sydney, Dec. 5. The Seamen’s Union, at Sydney passed a resolution in. favour of rationing. For instance, where a man has been-in employment continuously on any vessel, say for six months, he must stand aside for an unemployed member of the union. A significant fact is that the meeting was attended by an overwhelming number of idle seamen. The ship-owners-regard the resolution as a contravention of the award.
