Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, on December 12 and 13 has been announced. , by the selectors, Messrs. J. Brown (Nqrth Taranaki) and Geo. In the north, the Old Boys Club has one representative. A., Petty. .// The New Plymouth, club has two. representatives, Nasmith and Clarke, and the strong High School team has repre- ,' sentatives in Harding and Morrison.. ./j In the south the Old Boys Club has - three representatives in Lay, Barker and Cheevers. Crawford comes from Okaiawa, and S.. Betts, from Kapbnga. • The captain of the Taranaki team will - soon be selected by the Taranaki Association. It is unlikely that .any of - i the players will be unavailable, with the possible exception of Cheevers. i■ The Taranaki team is one that should give a great deal of gatisfactiort to fob lowers of the game. On. the whole a young team, with Kingstone and Clarke .1 to "ive guidancel it has strength in both ; batting °and. bowling? Kingstone, Na- . - smith, Clarke, Lay, Barker and Cheevers are all proved representative players of very even calibre. They make a good ■ backbone to tho team. ■/.■, ■ '4 Petty is a quick, trustworthy, wicket- ft keeper. Harding, the High-School hoy, is -a good solid bat. Crawford, is a fast,; /.jj change bowler who is.dangerous if he. strikes a spot. Betts has been making- { . - ; k some big scores in the south lately and ■ can bat°powerfully when he has played ' , ’ himself in.
