Charged at the Police Court to-day with deserting from the ship Kia Ora at Wellington on May 14, 1928, Owen Derrick, aged 41 years,, pleaded guilty. Phe charge was an unusual one for Blenheim and appearance here was accounted for by his'arrest at Wha.ra.nui. Sergeant Petersen mentioned that the shipping company did not want the man back.
