ASHBURTON MAN FINED £3O. By Telesraph.—Press Association. Ashburton, Nov. 28/ Francis Joseph Hanrahan was fined £3O for illegally selling liquor. The police stated that in four , hours on a Sunday 33 people called- and took away liquor openly. The defence was that defendant was colb.-- ng debts' Christchurch wine and spirit merchants. He gave liquor to a boarder at his wife’s boarding-house for the former’s sick wife.
