- 'i MISHAP NEAR TE PUKE/ PROPELLOR AND. WING DAMAGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. To Puke, November 24. _ A Moth aeroplane, piloted by Captain Money, of the Rotorua Aero Club, crashed into a “baby” motor-car at Maketu yesterday. The machine was damaged fairly extensively, the propeller and the left wing being injured. The motor-car .was not damaged. The accident happened when the aeroplane was turning, preparatory to taking off. The landing ground at Maketu is difficult for turning, one side being bounded by a belt of tall bluegum trees and the other side by rough ground. Very little margin is permitted for manoeuvres. When arriving at Maketu the airman found difficulty in landing owing to the high wind and the nature of the ground. • ’ / . The plane will be out of action for at least a week, as new parts will have to be procured elsewhere. Captain Money, who estimates the damage to be at least £5O, was visiting Maketu on behalf of the Rotorua Aero Club.
