FORTY THEFTS BY YOUNG GIRLS LACK OF CONTROL CRITICISED. • lj By Telegraph.—Press Association. n Christchurch, Nov. 22. “If I could I would visit the sins of l ’ these girls upon the parente; if it was in my pow'er to punsh them I believe I should,” said the magistrate, Mr. E. - D Mosley, in the Children’s Court this mornin" when four young girls faced nearly "forty charges of theft, mostly from skating rinks. Three of the girls worked as a team, two of them watching, while the third did the stealing. These three were com--7 mitted to the care of the. State until q they reach the age of 21 yeais. The q fourth girl, only ten years old, was 0 placed under the supervision of the child 1 welfare officer for three years. 2 The magistrate said that the parents 3 had not looked after the girls at all.
