THE UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD
THE FIRST MEETING TO-DAY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 21.
The first meeting of the Unemployment Board will be held tomiorrow. The Minister will preside but, owing to his many other duties, it will not be possible for him to be present at all subsequent meetings, and his place in the chair will be taken by Mr. Burdckin. It is not intended to set up an elaborate organisation and the co-op-eration of various Government departments will probably enable the board to function satisfactorily without involving heavy' expenditure. It is expected, however, that it* will be necessary to appoint one or more executive officers.
