The proposal that the New Zealand Government should send the Wellington war memorial carillon on loan to the British Empire Exhibition at Buenos Aires in March has fallen through. The cost would be £1750 and the. Prime Minister could not see his way to authorise the expenditure under the existing circumstances. ' The bells are being packed for shipment to Wellington on December 4.
