Sensational stories of events in Russia continue to circulate throughout Europe. It is even reported that Stalin has been assassinated. The Tass Agency denies this—also the arrest of certain generals —but information from Moscow' is emphatic that there have •been wholesale arrests of officers. Travellers from Russia report extensive movements of troops, rigorous examination of passports and train inspections, and that faith in the five years old- plan has faded. The people are longing for a new regime, The Moscow correspondent' of The Times reports that the Soviet Government contemptuously declined to deny file alarming stories of mutiny and the assassination of Stalin. ReC. 5.5 p.m. Berlin, Nov. 22. It is reported that two batteries of artillery have been ordered to Moscow to cleanse the Red Army of the dissatisfied element. The newspaper Isvestia describes the statements as idiotic inventions designed to create the impression that the collapse of the Soviet is inevitable.
