The Marchese Xlarconi successfully experimented with automatic radio telephony from his yacht Elettra at Genoa, and will shortly make larger scale tests by connecting the telephone systems between Rome and Cagliari (Sardina) by two powerful wireless stations, enabling a person in Rome to ring up a number in Cagliari, 250 miles away. The impulses will be transmitted by short-wave wireless, and one© the connection is established conversation will be carried on in the ordinary way. Wireless telephony conversation will be secret, as the system is based on many superimposed wireless waves, which cannot be intercepted.
