COASTAL MOVEMENTS. r The Opihi arrived from the south yesterday morning at 11.30, and after discharging -100 tons of cargo returned south last night for Wellington and Dunedin. She will Joad. at Dunedin about Wednesday for New Plymouth via southern ports. . (U.S.S. Co.). | The .Hauturu, after being biir-bound, crossed the Manukau harbour at six o’clock yesterday morning. She arrived at New Plymouth at about 8.3 t) o’clock last night with general cargo for discharge. She returns north this afternoon and is next due here on Tuesday morning. She is to load wool at Raglan on the way north, (Northern Co.), The Totara will load at Dunedin today for New Plymouth, where she is due on Thursday, via Oamaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. (U.S.S. Co.). The John will load, .at Dunedin today for New Plymouth, where she is due on November 21 via Timaru, Lyttelton, 'Wellington and Wanganui. (Hooker- Bros.). The- Progress will load at Dunedin on Monday for New Plymouth, via Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui. She is due at New Plymouth about Monday week and will sail the same day for Port Waikato. (Hooker Bros;). BARRDALE IN PORT.
The Barr-Crombie Company’s' vessel Barrdale arrived at New Plymouth yesterday afternoon from Auckland after experiencing a rough passage. The vessel will unload 3000 tons of Nauru phosphate at New Plymouth before sailing to Westport to bunker. Later 'she will proceed to. Makatea Island to load phosphates. Captain F. J. Naylor is in command and has associated with him the following officers: Chief, Mr. W. Jones; second, Mr. D. McMillan; third, Mr. J. Walker; chief engineer, Mr. 8. Dalgarno; second, Mr. J. G. Reid; third, Mr. W. McArthur; fourth, Mr. E. Simmons; wireless operator, Mr. T. Jardine. PORT NICHOLSON TO LOAD. The C. and D. Line vessel Port Nicholson is due at New Plymouth to-morrow from Wangapui to load 8000 boxes of butter, 10,000 crates of cheese and 9000 freight carcases.of meat to the agency of Collett and Co. She will proceed to Wellington, Napier, Gisborne,' Tokomq.ru Bay and Auckland to complete. She is scheduled to clear z Auckland for London on December - 6 via the Panama Canal. TAMAROA’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner' Tamaroa, which arrived at Wellington on Wednesday morning from London and Southampton, is, scheduled to leave this evening for Auckland, where she is dire op Monday morning to complete discharge of' her cargo,of general merchandise and commence loading for her homeward voyage. The vessel’s other loading ports are New Plymouth (where she is due on November 27), Timaru, Napierand Wellington. She is to leave Wellington on December 17 for Southampand • London; via Panama. / — HERTFORD COMPLETING. The Federal liner Hertford arrived at Auckland yesterday from Tokomaru Bay, New Plymouth, and other ports and will complete loading for England. Commonwealth and DonunioAJLihe steamer will leave London on September 16, 1931, for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Timaru and New Plymouth; She is due at New Plymouth late in November, and will bring Christmas goods for 1931. AORANGI LEAVES VANCOUVER. The Royal Mail liner Aorangi left Vancouver. at noon on Wednesday for Auckland and-Sydney, via Honolulu and Suva. She is due at Auckland on Sunday, November 30, and at Sydney five -days- later. KAITUNA TO PAY OFF. The Union Company’s steamer Kaituna arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from New Plymouth to complete unloading coal from Greymouth. The vessel will afterwards be withdrawn from commission. ’ ■ KiWITEA OVERHAULED. The Union Company’s steamer Kiwitea, which had been in dock at Auckland for several days in connection with her overhaul and survey, came out of dock yesterday and proceeded to a berth at the port.
