The Speaker, Mr. Makin, in the House -of Representatives to-day ruled out of order the motion by J. G. Latham for the (suspension of Mr. E. G. Theodore. Later Mr. Latham asked “is the actingPrime Minister prepared to take action to ",'.■ amend the standing orders to enable the House to protect its honour and dignity in the case of members being found guilty of fraud, dishonesty or corruption?” Mr. J. E, Fenton declined to answer a question couched in such termsMr. Theodore on Monday received a letter from the Leader of'the Opposition, Mr. Latham, informing him that he intended 'to move a motion in the House that he bp suspended. “In the interest of the hon- ' our and dignity of Parliament ” Mr. Theodore replied that the matter was sub-judice, as the Queensland Govern-; men£ had- commenced civil proceedings agautst him in connection with the Mungana leases.
