MINIATURE GOLF CRAZE
RAPID GROWTH IN SYDNEY. Sydney, Oct. 30. Miniature golf courses—what arc known in Sydney as the “Minnies” — have sprung up in all directions round the city, but while, at the moment, these midget golf outfits show all the signs of becoming a flourishing industry they will probably prove, before long, only a passing fad. This latest sport has spread from the city to the suburbs, and already, in a number of councils, the question has been raised whether midget golf is an amusement which those bodies can regulate by local law, and, in some instances, whether the indulgence of it alongside a church on Sunday can be prevented. For the sake of the promoters of these pigmy courses, it. is to be hoped that the latest sport will have a fair rum. fox
