BUOYANCY OF SEAPLANES

COLLAPSIBLE BOAT TESTED. British Wireless. Rugby, Nov. 12. Mr. F. Montague, Under-Secretary, of Air, stated in the House of Commons that a life-saving collapsible xdinghy which could rapidly lie inflated by mechanical means had recently been subjected to practical tests with satisfactory, results and would be carried on all eea-going- seaplanes large enough to be so equipped. Action was being, taken to improve the buoyancy of all aircraft operating from aircraft-carriers and to bring alLmetal sea-going aeroplanes to a standard of at least two or three hours’ buoyancy in fair weather.
