FOOTBALL ART UNION
IPROIPOSED NEW RUGBY GROUNDS. The Taranaki Rugby Art Union has been finalised and it was reported at last night’s meeting of the union that it had shown a profit of £6936 0s 6d, which, after making allowance for the payment of £5OO to the Pukekura Park Board, left £6436 0s 6d available. In view of the conditions prevailing at the time members of the union considered the result very satisfactory and the art union committee, Messrs J. McLeod, R. Masters and the secretary, Mr. S. E. Nielson, received complimentary remarks on the success of their efforts. The meeting went into committee vo discuss the proposed new grounds. for New Plymouth and Hawera in the light of information already before the union. It was decided to go further into the matter of plans and finance at a special meeting to be held in the near future.
