His trainer, Quinlan, won recently with Cragford and Mystic Peak. The New Zealand gelding Huiit the Slipper aM wa Y VJ Ey r d n Moore Stakes and won brilliantly. He - shows distinct promise. He was ridden by T. Webdter and trained by A. WebSt piiar Lap had a comfortable task in the Linlithgow Stakes. He has now won £45,842 in, stakes. This is rider Pikes third,win in the race. Barbette put up a remarkable performance in the Oaks, losing 50 yards«at the start and then winning narrowly. Barbette is trained by th 6 former New - Zealander Lou Robertson. Owner A. P. Wade won on Tuesday with First ArBarbette's stablemate, Gay ' Salute, tried to lead all the way in the Veteran Stakes but was caught in the last stride by El R®J'- T his is J°« ke y Bun ’ can’s first win at the meeting.
