MOTORISTS BEFORE COURT
. X MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINES. A number of charges against motorists were heard by Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., at New Plymouth yesterday. Nathan King, who said lie had had his car lights fixed immediately the police pointed out they were not alight, was fined 10s and 10s costs.
Stanley E. Nielson (Mr. A. G. Anderson) was fined 10s and costs 10s for driving a. car in Devon Street without a tail light. David Henry Griffiths was fined 10s. and costs 10s for driving in Devon j Street without proper lights. He said | his lights were in order. He believed he accidentally turned off the switch on the wheel when turning a corner. Raynor . Mudgway, Rahotu, was fined I i 10s and 12s costs for not having the I i numberj. plate on his motor truck easily | ; distinguishable. He wrote that the I trouble was caused by him backing into I
some timber and bending the plate. Frank Puklowski was fined 20s and 10s costs for driving his cai’ in Devon Street without the regulation lights. Jean Orr Blake was fined 10s and costs 20s for stopping her car within a tram’s length of the point marked as a stopping place at the corner of Devon and Egmont streets.
