WHITELEY CHURCH FAIR
SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR OPENS.
EXCEPTIONAL DECORATIONS.
— I Decorated with exceptional attractiveness, the Whiteley Methodist butterfly bazaar* opened in New Plymouth yesterday afternoon and was generously patronised. The ladies who had worked to make goods for sale and had expended much thought and labour in planning the decoration of their stalls, were rewarded with general praise and a good market for their stocks. , The bazaar this year was separated from the Whiteley spring flower show and will benefit the trust funds for the church property. The (Mayor, Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths, declared the fair open. The Mayoress was presented with a novelty bouquet. Competitions were conducted last nmht and a programme was given by an instrumental ■ quartet. - The fair will be continued , this jafternoon and evenin<», • ■ ' - v < \ The stallholders were:—Plain work, Mesdames J. C? : Morey, Lealand, Q. H., White, P. Wells and Horsup -.and Miss Rawson; art, Misses N. Chatterton and B. Carter and Mrs. E. J.-.' Thomas; cakes, Miss R.-Okey, Mesdames Goss and Symes and Miss Collis; aprons and handkerchiefs, The Choir (Mesdames Ber" and Whittaker and the Misses Sutherland); produce; Mesdames A. 1. Moore; Batey, Crowe and Miss N. Okey; flowers, Miss W. Sole; sweets,Mesdames \ S Clark and Valentine Smitn; Christmas tree,. Mrp. Eaton and Bible Class girls; tea and supper rooms, Mesdames Pascoe, Eaddy, Giddy, Thompson, Dearnley and Nicholson and Miss Avann; children’s: garden, Mesdames Bone and B. Bellringer and Miss Z.-Bell-ringer; croquet, Messrs. H. Kendrick and F. Boyle. :
