OBITUARY
DEATH OF MR. K..X CLOUT. / The death occurred at his residence. Taiporohenui, near Hawera, on Satui - day of Mr. Kenny Thomas Clout, at the of 38 years. Mr. Clout was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Clout. He was born at the homestead at Taiporohenui and lived 'there all his life with the exception of the period during, which he saw war service. He left 'the Dominion as a member of the 19th reinforcement in 1916, was wounded in France and subsequently invalided home.
For some time Mr. Clout had indifferent health as a result of war disabilities, and had recently been confined to his bed.
Mr. Clout, who was a farmer, war well known and popular in the district. He took a keen interest in all forms of sport, particularly horse racing, Rugby football and swimming. He played football for some time for the Hawera club. He was vice-captain of the first junior team in 1914, when the team won the Taranaki championship, an,d was a member of the senior team in 1915 when that team won the Taranaki senior championship. Mr. Clout married in 1920 Miss Alice Florence Clareburt, Hawera, and is survived by his widow. There were no children.
