CHRISTCHURCH CITY SUED
TAXI PROPRIETOR’S CLAIM. ’PHONE LICENSE CANCELLED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A claim for £172 7s was made against the Christchurch City Council to-day by C. S. Trillo, proprietor of the Gold Band Taxis. Trillo’s claim was in respect of cancellation by the City Council of licenses to use street telephones provided by the council. Trillo's fee at £2 per cab was £6O. for which he claimed the council tendered payment of £5O in repayment of the license fee for the unexpended period, which Trillo refused. The rest of the claim, £ll2 7s, Was alleged to be expense incurred by Trillo in providing other telephones. For the defence it was argued t'hat an arrangement by which the council provided telephones was not a contract and that the license was revocable. Decision was reserved
