M. Jan Kubelik left New Ply mouth early yesterday morning for Auckland.

Mr L. M. Moss returned to New Plymouth from Wellington,-'where he han been attending the sitting of the Court of Appeal. Guests at the Criterion, New Plymouth, include Colonel B. J. and-Mis. palmer, U.S.A., Mr. Urquhart. Wellington, Mr. Andrew Todd, Wellington, Mr. L. J. Clark, Wellington, and Mr.’ A.' Spence, Brisbane.

When M. Laurent-Eynae, the French Air Minister, was received by the Prince of Wales at St. James’ Palace, London, on Friday, the Prince expressed to him the personal gratitude of the King for the prominent share that M. LaurentEynae himself had in the action taken by the French Government and the nation in the rescue operations in connection with the loss of the RlOl. As a token of his Majesty's appreciation the Prince, by command of the King, conferred upon him the insignia, of a Knight of the Grand Cross of the British Empire.
