British Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Oct. 13. The King's third son, the Duke of Gloucester, is due to leave for Abyssinia on Thursday to be present at the coionation of the new Emperor. Ras lafari Mekonncn. The Duke paid a farewell visit to the King and Queen at Sandringham yesterday. It is the first time a member of the Royal Family has paid an official visit to Abyssinia. The Duke is taking many presents for the new Emperor, including some sporting guns and several very valuable Abyssinian manuscripts, that have been in England for some centuries. He will make the presentations immediately on his arrival at Menelik Palace at Addis Ababa, where a spacious suite of rooms, panelled in mother of pearl and gold and hung with silken tapestries, has been prepared for him. The Duke will be the principal guest at the numerous ceremonies connected with the coronation, which will last for a week. After the conclusion of the ceremonies the Duke will undertake a game-hunting trip in the uplands of Abyssinia, and before returning home from Aden will pay a semi-official visit to British Somaliland.
