SHOWERY WEATHER
Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly fair with moderate temperatures but showery at times in eastern districts south of Timaru and western districts from Taranaki southward. A moderate anticyclone is passing New Zealand to the northward'. A rather vigorous depression is centred east of Bass Strait, but pressure is low also to the east of New' Zealand. There will.,.be southwest to west winds veering- gradually to north-west, moderate io strong generally and reaching gale force at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Seas will be rough at first south of Akaroa but improving, rough avout Cook Strait and south of Cape Egmont, and moderate elsewhere.
