Advice has. been, received by the South Taranaki Automobile Association that the StratfprdrTaum.ai’unui Road is closed until further notice as the Mangapapa bridge in the Tangarakau Gorge is in a dangerous state, -and air traffic is suspended. -
Results of the guessing competitions held by the St, John Ambulance Association in New Plymouth on Friday are: — Bag of sugar (length piece of string, 43J inches), Mesdames Marcr aud Trueman, 45 inches; Mrs. Richards, 42 inches. Hain (peas in bottle, 605), Mesdames Almond and Trueman, 600. In each instance the prize was divided among the winning competitors.
' The Farmers’ Co-op. will sell 600 head of cattle, including a large proportion of grown bullocks and steers, at the Kohuratahi cattle sale and bullock fair on Monday, October 20. Particulars are advertised.
