TARANAKI’S LAST MATCH
TEAM TO PLAY WELLINGTON. ' KEEN GAME EXPECTED TO-DAY . (By Wire—Special Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. The match between Taranaki and Wellington, which closes the Rugby ‘season here, is looked forward to with considerable interest. Wellington this year has a splendid record, having de-, feated Taranaki, Britain, Auckland, .Southland, Otago, Canterbury and Wai-, rarapa. . Its only, setback was a di’aw; against Hawke’s Bay. Wellington has selected a strong team against Tara* naki, whom it regards as Taranaki’s record this season is a splen* did one. .With the exception of . thei defeat by Britain Wellington is tJia, only • other team to lower Taranaki’s colours, its record, being seven wins, two losses and a draw (against Auckland). . : - The Wellington team includes the All Black captain, who is making appearance in big football,; ;HA was given a and so was Cooke, who did not play against Hawke’s Bay. ' ’ ’/ Tlie Taranaki team took useful praoi tice at Athletic Park to-day. All are well except R.. Lusk, who has an in* jured knee and was unable to play against Wairarapa. The ground today soft -as- a-'result—of rain the previous night but has since dried con* siderably and at the time of wiring the prospects are for fine weather. Mr. J. Moffitt has been selected to referee. The Taranaki backs will be the same as played Wairarapa, but in the fopwards Gargan will replace Young in the front row and R.
