His wishes to hide his identity were fully respected by the Ficnch Press, and he was ab.e to walk the boulevards unrecognised. The determination of four American photographers to snap him led to an incident outside his hotel. When tne Prince, accompanied by' General Trotter, was emerging, the photographers broke through a group of French detectives. The Prince hurried across the pavement wl'iile General Trotter pushed the two photographers with I a golf-bag. rhe Prince, who is usually good-natured, was obviously annoyed.
