PROBLEM FOR JUDICATURE
BOTH DIVISIONS TO SIT. ORDER OF GOVERNOR-GENERAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. < Wellington, Last Night. ■ Under the Judicature Amendment Act, 1913, it was provided that the first and second divisions of the Appeal Court should sit and exercise; their jurisdiction separately, except by special order of the Governor-General. In July, however, certain legal questions in the Supreme .Court trial of Alfred Edward Storey on a charge of manslaughter, and an offence against section 27 Of the Motor Vericles Act, 1024, were referred to the first division of the Appeal Court on September 24. The Chief Justice and Mr. Justice Reed have now recommended that the points at issue are of such importance and difficulty that they have recommended the Governor-General to authorise that both divisions should sit together. Notice is given in the Gazette to-night that the Governor-General has issued such an order, and both divisionswill sit together for this case.
