CENTRAL SCHOOL SOCIAL
FUNDS SUBSTANTIALLY HELPED A very pleasant social evening and dance was conducted by the committee of the Central Home and. School Association in St. Mary's Hall, 'New Plymouth, last night, and the gathering was largely attended. lu song and dance a very happy evening was spent and as the result of the effort the funds of the association should be considerably augmented. During the evening a splendid, programme of. vocal and musical items was' given, those contributing being Mr. L. Kerr (vocal solo), Mr. E. Edgecombe ( . (violin) and Miss M. Crawshaw (piano-: forte obbligato), Mr. C. E. Ferry (ventriloquism). Miss, M. Crawshaw played, the accompaniments. The dance music was provided by Mr, and Mrs. Davies and Messrs D. George and E. Edgecombe. Mr. A. F. Sandford was master of ceremonies on the dance floor. A delightful supper was provided and served by the ladies of the association. The dances next month wilVbe held on October 9 and 23, while on October 16 a social evening will- he tendered'Miss Mary Crawshaw, who has rendered valuable assistance at these functions.
