AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
MEETING IN NEW PLYMOUTH. The committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society held a meeting in New Plymouth yesterday. Present: Messrs. H. C. Sampson (president), W. B. Grant, J. H. Allen, A. T. Moore, H. Trimble, J. Brown, W. Hall, W. K. Morris, E. S. Allen, C. J. Harris, F. Dodunski, A. Turnbull, W. McKenzie, J. T. Goodrick, A. C. Lister, A. R. Gudopp,- F. Cornwall, A. P. Lister and R. Scott. A resolution of appreciation of the work of Mr. R. G. Ridling was recorded. ’ The chairman referred to the work of Mr. Ridling and the success he had made of the Boys’ and Girls’ Club movement. Messrs. E. R. Black, Mokau, and Av. Sadler, Bell Block, were elected members. The suggestion that in future all competitors who carry through their work to completion each season in connection with the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs should be presented by the various executives with a badge indicating that they were members of the club movement, was made by the Fields Superintendent of the Department of Agriculture. The department was prepared to arrange for a supply of badges at a cost of ]?d. each to the. various executives. A specimen badge was enclosed.
