MISS AMERICA WINS EASILY. BRITISH CHALLENGER BEATEN. ■ By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.m. New York, Aug. 30. In a speed boat race at Detroit (Michigan) G. A. R. Wood, driving Miss America IX., easily won the first heat in the Harms worth Trophy race, defeating the British challenger, Miss Marion Carstairs, who drove Estelle IV. Estelle V., which is admittedly the faster of the two British boats, was forced out by engine trouble at' the start of the third five miles lap.
