Twelve months, ago Tidal xyqn from TarapUnga, with Dalston’s halfbrother, Stormy, third). LIMERICK NOT IMPRESSIVE. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.ni. Sydney, Aug. 31. Limerick’s come-back in the Warwick Stakes was not impressive, but his trainer, F. D., Jones/ is hopeful that his charge will soon be able to demonstrate that yesterday’s form was all wrong. The gelding was squeezed back between the four or five furlongs posts and could not get closer than seventh. On cooling down he showed an inclination to soreness in front, but it is not suggested that a recurrence is likely of the troubie that threw him out of action last .year. R. S- Bagby, the jockey, was asked to explain to the stewards his riding of In the Shade'in the Spring Handicap, which it Mas .’generally considered he should have won. The stewards, after hearing evidence, expressed the opinion that Bagby rode an ill-judged race a candid declaration whole-heartedly endorsed by many backers. Another New Zealander, Gay Crest, who was the only one credited with a chance of beating In the Shade, ran a wood fourth. Lack of race experience told over the last furlong.
