BEQUEST BY GUMDIGGER

TOTAL FOR BLIND INSTITUTE. A gumdigger, Mr. William Hayes, aged 40 years, who was found dead last I week in his hut in the Houhora district, North Auckland, left an estate valued at £1775. He had £950 in the Post Office Savings Bank, £125 in the Auckland Savings Bank and a life insurance policy of £7OO. The whole of the estate has been left to the Jubilee Institute for tho Blind. ■ Mr. Hayes, who was born in London, was very much respected by his’ fellow i diggers.
