WOMAN LOST IN BUSH
DAYS OF FRUITLESS SEARCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. Fears are entertained for the safety of Mrs. Heming, wife of a roadman, living 12 miles on the Taupo side of Tarawera, who has been missing since Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Heming were out together on Saturday afternoon Ju a clearing not far from their house? Heming left his wife to go in search of pigs. He wounded a large boar and called his dogs to track it as it penetrated deeper into the bush, thinking his wife would go home. On his return to the camp later his wife was not there. Darkness set in and Heining returned to the bush and continued the search unsuccessfully until late into the night. The police have since been engaged in an extensive search with the assistance of residents of the district, but no trace of Mrs. Heming has been found. The density of the bush and the ruggedness of the country, together with the bad weather since Saturday, ’ make the search difficult and the plight of the woman serious.
