SECONDARY SCHOOL RUGBY
SOUTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. OTAGO DEFEATS CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. The annual South Island secondary school Rugby tournament was commenced here to-day in brilliant sunshine and before a large attendance. In the first match Otago defeated Christchurch by 14 points to 3 after a rather disappointing display by both teams. The second match was hghly exciting and spectacular and Southland gained a meritorious victory over Timaru almost on the call of time, the final score being 7 —5 in the home team’s favour.
