URUTI NEWS
A euchre and' dance party was held in the Uruti Hall on Friday evening. The prizes were won by Mrs. W. Jones and Mr. Son. Jones. The lucky spot prizes were won- by Messrs. D. Carson and J. Reipo. The music was supplied by Mrs. W. Jones and Mr. Rex Larsen. A schoolboy named Raymond Oxenham was tying a horse to a fence when tlie horse pulled back and caught the boy’s finger in the reins.- One of the fingers had to be amputated. More rabbits are reported in the Pehu district, one farmer securing about eight young ones. Mr. G. Murray, who is in hospital, is reported to be progressing favourably. Mr. B. • Fairbrother, Maskers school, has gone to Dannevirke fordiis. holidays.. Mr.-Neilson, who has been staying with Mr. B. Fairbrother, has gone to Waitara.
Miss M. Newton, Kawhai, is staying with Mrs. G. .K. Oxenham. Mr. and Mrs. G. Fulton spent the week-end in Brixton. Mr. and Mrs. T. Jones have taken up their residence in this district. The Rev. W. Scott is relieving at Taumarunui.
Mr. F. Weston has returned to Uruti. Miss Waliice has gone to Taupiri and is the guest of Mrs. C. Old.
