Mrs. Burgess presided oyer Veto! - excellent attendance, visitors being pre- 1 sent from Tikorangi. _ ;■ As this was the second anniversary* of’ the branch a birthday party was held to' celebrate the occasion. After the bus!--ness had been transacted Mrs. Burgess called on Mrs. Kirkby, who gave a very enjoyable reading. Musical and elocutionary items were given by Mrs. BirchJohnson and Mrs. Bray brook. A very amusing competition was held* “guessing the names of local men.” This resulted in a draw between Mrs. Tait,Mrs. Duncan and Mrs. Kivell. Mrs. Kivell drew the prize; Afternoon tea was served and Mrs. Burgess cut the birthday cake, which had been donated - by Miss Trimble and cooked by Mrsy Burgess.
