“LIKE DIGGING FOR GOLD”
EDUCATION COMMITTEE REPORT THE SCARCITY.’OF COPIES.' By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night; . “It leaves the matter open to a. very sinister interpretation,” said Mr. W. H. Oram at the meeting of the Wanganui Board of Education yestei’day in commenting on the difficulty experienced by members in obtaining copies of. the 'Parliamentary recess committee’s report embodying drastic amendments to the administration of education in the Dominion. “It is like digging for gold to get one of these reports,” he continued. “Every board member in New Zealand should be supplied with a copy. As it is I have just had a look at the first part and will probably never sec the second.”
Other members referred to the failure of the commission to visit Wanganui, whose educational facilities were among the best in New Zealand. It was decided that the board convene a meeting of representatives of school committees and secondary and high school boards to deal with the two phases of the report and make such recommendations as may be thought fit.-
