The Duke of Northumberland, says a wireless message, passed a fair night. Although his strength is well maintained there is still cause for great anxiety. A London message reports the death of Air. Rhodes Hawtyn Cobb, formerly senior partner in Anning and Cobb, Australian and New Zealand produce merchants.
A wireless message says that Lord Birkenhead liad a good night and his chest symptoms have improved. There is a slight increase in general -strength. His condition, however, remains serious. The death of Mrs. Hott, widow of John Hott, is reported from Wellington. She was an active soeial worker and a generous contributor to many philanthropic institutions. She is survived by her son, Mr. J. M. A. Hott, and a sister, Miss K. Baldwin.
