FIRST NATIONAL’S “PARIS.” Piquant Irene Bordoni, French accent and all, will be seen and heard here for the first time in a motion'picture when. “Paris” commences at Everybody’s on Saturday next for a six-night season. The brilliant Broadway favourite was captured by the First National-Vita-phone Studios to go out to Hollywood and make' a talkie of her New York hi*. ‘ The camera' has caught the vivid personality of the actress, who began her career at the Theatre Varieties in Paris and has since become renowned in both hemispheres, “Paris” is. the Spicy story of a Boston family with Mayflower ancestry who land’in the French capital to prevent the marriage' of their son to an actress. It is an all-dialogue production with musical sequences depicting the French theatre. And some of the lavishly brilliant scenes are made in technicolour. Jack Buchanan,’famous musical comedy 'star, plays the leading male role and the supporting cast is composed of many famous players. Five big song hits are' ; also featured in this production. There will be a matinee'oh Saturday at 2 p.m. THE REGENT. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. “Three Live Ghosts,” now shewing at The Regent at 2 and 7.45 p.m., is not a mystery story but a delightfully refreshing comcdy-drama, based on the play by that name which scored t'o heavily on the New York and London stage. The story revolves around three British soldiers who escape from a German prison camp and return to their former haunts in London only to discover that they are legally dead in the eyes of the Government and their friends. The “Three Live Ghosts” are*' Charles McNaughton, who gives a realistic characterisation of “Jimmie Gubbins,” a Cockney; ■ Robert. Montgomery, as “William Foster,” an American wanted by the police, and Claud Allister; an English “gentleman” who is known as “Spoofy” because he has lost his mental faculties due to shell-shock. There is a big supporting programme, including a “Micky the Mouse” cartoon. “Three Live Ghosts” concludes its local season to-morrow at 2 and 7.45 p.m.
